About Us

Ed Ibbetson - Office Manager

Ed Ibbetson has spent most of his working life in the warm embrace of the bike industry, spending several years behind the counter in shops, and the past ten in distribution. He’s a staunch advocate of all things single speed, although his back disagrees from time to time. Currently he’s riding a Lapierre Zesty: “the best full susser I ever rode” and is putting together what might just be his most awesome bike ever: a custom Lynskey 29er.

Martin Astley - Marketing Manager

Martin comes from an interesting and varied background in the bike industry. He has been involved in everything from trail building in Whistler to managing the Iron Horse brand in the UK, running demo's for Kona in Canada and more recently managing the infamous Mud Dock Cycleworks. He is also a passionate bike rider and enjoys riding in all disciplines, his current favorite is enduro downhill and he is currently ranked in the top 10 in the MaxiAvalanche EuropeCup.

Chris Wright – Marketing Assistant

Chris is our recently appointed Marketing Assistant. Spending his earlier working years in retail Management, he took the leap into the cycle industry two year ago and started working for a well known Trail Centre cycle shop. In his spare time he is a self appointed Team Manager for his own Downhill Race team and enjoys hammering the strings on his new Les Paul.

Matt Currie – Graphic Designer

Matt comes from a traditional graphic design background having previously worked in Central London for a number of years until very recently. A keen street-trials rider for many years he spent his weekends dodging tourists, jumping over obstacles and being constantly cut-up and knocked off his bike on his daily commute until the completion of his beloved trail bike in late 2011. Once finished and with any descent being hundreds of miles away London was out and it was time to head for the hills. Now happily calling Edinburgh home and designing for an industry he enjoys things are looking pretty good.

Ross Millar – Bikes Brand Manager

Ross hails from Ireland and has spent a large chunk of his working life in the bike trade working in sales, buying and product management. Pre-bike trade he worked in PR and marketing across a variety of industries. Mostly riding XC/AM he's happy keeping it old school on wee 26's for now. Apparently though there's potential for a custom 650b hardtail to be added to his stable this year. Ross manages supplier relationships as well looking after our Ghost dealers.

Graham Moore – North West Account Manager

Graham comes from a retail background. He spent several years with Leisure Lakes before leaving the warm embrace of the bike industry to gain some “On Road” sales experience. He has now re-joined the bike industry as the North West accounts manager for Hotlines to bolster the ever growing field sales team.

Kelvin Lawton - South West Account Manager

Kelvin was born in Swansea grew up in Newport and now resides in Bristol, but has been riding bikes for as long as he can remember, and working in the cycle industry has been the only job he’s ever had!
Most of his spare time is spent renovating the house he and his fiancé own together, but generally it only gets done when there is no riding available.
He’s always on a bike whether it is chilling out at the pump track, racing his DH bike or counting the miles on his trail bike. So long as it’s riding he’s happy.

Stuart Kerr – North American Nukeproof & Ragley Agent

Stuart was born in Callander way back in the 70’s. He’s been riding mountain bikes longer than most of the Hotlines staff have been alive and claims to ride 15,000 off-road Km’s a year, which beg’s the question how on earth does he find time to do any work?! But work he does and Stuart has had a long and successful career working for Cove in his new(ish) home of Vancouver where he gets to ride the world finest trails whenever he feels like it. Stuart is now responsible for representing Nukeproof and Ragley in North America and looking after the rapidly growing network of IBD’s stocking the brand “over the pond”

Karen Davidson – Credit Control Team Leader

Karen has joined Hotlines with 19 years experience of Credit Control gained throughout various types of Companies, ranging from Government Agencies to Mobile Phone Companies. She is a bit camera shy, although you won’t believe that once you’ve spoken to her! Outside of work, sadly she has not been bitten by the cycling bug (yet!). Karen enjoys spending time with her family and practicing Reflexology and Swedish Massage.

Semone McDonald - Credit Control

Semone McDonald comes from a background in the motor industry but is keen to develop her knowledge of the biking industry. Not yet bitten by the cycling bug Semone is sure once her children find out about the products we sell she will soon be talked into the biking world!

Declan Deehan - Internal Sales Team Leader

Declan is a wee lad from across the water in Donegal, and has been a chef for twelve years, but couldn't ignore the calling to the mountain bike industry any longer. Declan is new to the cycle business, but he loves nothing better than racing dh or dirt jumping on his NS Core 1. Obviously all washed down with a couple of cold ones - like any mountain biker worth his salt!

Andrew McIntosh – International sales and Tech Support

Andrew is one of Hotlines longest serving employees, he currently laises with some our top brands like Nukeproof and Ragley and manages our International sales department. He is from Edinburgh, born and raised and has been riding/racing mounatin bikes since the late 90’s. He spends most his free time when not out riding his Nukeproof Mega AM, playing drums for his rock band.

Steve Larking – Sales Tech Advisor

Steve has joined Hotlines after a four year stint in cycle retail so is no stranger to the business of bikes. He is most happiest riding the “wrong” bike, has raced DH on a hardtail for years and can now be found ragging his cyclocross bike round Glentress.

Gregor Wilson – Sales Tech Advisor

Ever since he was a "bairn doing wheelies and skids" Gregor has been in to bikes. Having spent the last 7 years working for a local bicycle co-operative he has a real passion for the industry to go with his love of riding. The move into distribution is an exciting step for Gregor and has allowed him to be more involved in the industry he loves. He also hopes it'll mean plenty more opportunities for wheelies and skids!

Sam Kirkwood – Sales Tech Advisor

Sam has been in the bike industry for over a decade, joining Hotlines after a four year stint handling sales and warranty work for a large Scottish chain. Although he enjoys riding any type of bike, he’s happiest on his mountain bike riding terrain that’s on the wrong side of steep in both directions. He is often to be found huffing and puffing up a long slog of climb in the Pentland hills near Edinburgh, or looking a bit wild-eyed and buzzy at the bottom of a hill in the Scottish Borders.

Steve Kerr – Warranty Manager

Steve has been riding since he was three, and started doing his own mechanical work from age seven. He has worked in retail and supply, running shops, repping, and filling a similar role at another distributor. Steve’s only escape from the bike trade was two years testing carbon in a lab, some of which was headed to the bike trade anyway! He loves riding up hills but only so he can come back down again.
