From Dave Weagle to countless authorities on product design, they can all agree on one fact when it comes to lightweight direct mount stems...7075 T6 aluminium is the only material of choice... So why do some manufactures continue to sell superlight direct mount stems that are machined from 6061 T6 aluminium? Well...simple, 7075 T6 aluminium costs three times as much to use! Regardless of raw material costs, 7075 T6 aluminium is three times stronger than 6061 T6 and is a critical component in designing a strong lightweight four piece direct mount stem as direct mount stems go through extreme stress due to leverage created at the crown mounting bolts and the inability for the stem to rotate upon impact like a conventional stem. By using high grade 7075 T6 aluminium as the foundation of the Deity Fantom DM stem, we are able to introduce an incredibly light stem that is one of the strongest on the market. Simple, clean, and featuring the durability of a bead blast anodized finish... the Deity Fantom DM was over a year in the making and after 3 prototype designs, the final product is one of the highest end direct mount stems in the industry. Welcome the Deity Fantom DM
CNC machined detail removes every hidden gram to make the Deity Fantom DM stem one of the lightest direct mount stems on the market while being one of the strongest due to the use of 7075 T6 as the material of choice. No shortcuts have been taken in the design of the Fantom DM stem!
With varying DH course designs, adjustability in stem reach can sometimes mean the difference between a podium position and simply being a hundredth of a second off. Some adjustable stems on the market feature fully machined slots that do not cradle the crown bolts and inevitably cause the stem to creak, twist and become crooked during a run. This inferior design forces riders to constantly tighten their crown bolts and when the bike comes under impact or stress, the stem WILL move.
The elite Deity Fantom DM stem offers 2 dedicated reach positions that allow you to customise your cockpit set up without changing stems. Machined to properly support the crown bolts, you can rest assured your stem will stay in place.
