## **Spank Spike Race 33 Bead Bite MTB Rim** The Spike Race 33 is designed for Downhill racing, where keeping the strength in a light rim can be difficult. However, this rim has the Oohbah system implemented in its design, making it one of the stiffest rims available on the market. For a DH rim, it is also one of the lightest and most durable. The Oohbah technology is a unique feature found on Spank rims and wheels. The central section of the rim is traditionally slightly curved or flat on most rims, but the Oohbah design features a wave-like pattern in the centre. The Oohbah feature in the centre of the rim adds exceptional strength and makes it more rigid, traits commonly only found in wheels that are much heavier. This structural benefit also allows Spank to make rims that are wider without having to add extra material, which would add weight to them. The BeadBite technology has a serrated surface on the inside of the rim bead. This gives the tyre bead something to bite into, creating a tighter seal and reducing the chances of tyre burp when running a tubeless setup.
