The 2022 RUUT X is our raciest bike yet – both speed-wise and looks. This is a bike for those who consume on-road and off-road in equal measure; for those who are used to the speed of road bikes and are after the same kind of handling on gravel; for those who are looking to fire up their mellow trails with sporty geometry; and for those who enjoy firing up their competitive synapses at cyclocross races.
How does it tick so many boxes? It’s down to several key areas, starting with the moderate wheelbase and slack head angle that adds stability. Its clever design results in a medium trail for a more natural feel, while steering the rider into an aggressive position for maximum speed. Its responsive steering is perfect for twisting trails, albeit keeping you just enough on the edge for that ultimate dopamine hit. In short, if you’re not riding on the edge, you’re taking up too much room.
The RUUT X’s product specs are inspired by amateur cyclocross racing and fast gravel rides. As such, the RUUT X’s carbon frame’s complemented by lightweight components including its carbon aero handlebar and carbon seatpost. The impressive Shimano GRX drivetrain delivers incomparable performance, and features a 11-36 cassette with enough range and narrower spacing than typical 10-42t. The RUUT X also comes with fast and light 33mm Schwalbe tyres on HUNT aero wheels. This version of RUUT has everything that riders need, with the option to add bigger gravel tyres up to 45c for the ultimate off-road speed machine. And, of course, the RUUT X features Rondo’s unique TwinTip fork where you can change your position and steering character of the bike depending on your ride. 2022 sees new colourways to make every ride feel that bit more special.
